The Viniyoga Foundation course is an immersion in the Foundations of Viniyoga from a Therapeutic Perspective. This is the essential underpinning knowledge that forms 80% of yoga therapy and is fundamental knowledge for a personalised approach to yoga.

Course focus:

  • In depth analysis of yoga philosophy and its application in practice
     
  • The important principles of practice of asana, meditation and other tools of yoga
     
  • The Classical way of practicing asana and the principles behind the modifications of asana
     
  • A comprehensive study of all the principles behind sequencing of asana, pranayama and meditation practice – the key that opens to the full efficiency of these tools

All material will be dealt with from a therapuetic perspective. This course is suitable for all committed practitioners of yoga and is strongly recommended for every one who desires to take up the healing path.

This course is a stand alone course and also a pre-requisite for those wishing to embark on the VHF/Yoga Therapy Australia Therapist Training Program (recognised by the AAYT) commencing May 2011.

The cost for all tuition, all meals (vegetarian), and nine nights accommodation ranges from $1775 to $2925 depending on your choice of accommodation (camping through to deluxe cabin sole occupancy), and whether you wish to take up the early bird discount.

Venue

BALLINA BEACH VILLAGE, DOLPHIN BAY, NSW

The Ballina Beach Village, Dolphin Bay was recently purchased by Rikki and Bernard Grinberg who are in the process of upgrading and transforming this peaceful 15 acre property into an eco-retreat.

The village is situated on the other side of the river from Ballina township, opposite Dolphin Bay and nestled between the Richmond River and the sea. Just a few minutes walk along sandy tracks through the surrounding nature reserves takes you to an expansive 25km stretch of ocean beach. Dolphins are regularly sighted in both the river and the sea.

Travel

The venue is located at 440 South Ballina Beach Road, South Ballina, NSW. It is 10-15 minutes from Ballina township, 1 –1½ hours from Coolangatta Airport on the Gold Coast, and 1½ - 2 hours from Brisbane. The property is about 12 kms from Ballina Airport via a car ferry that operates every few minutes.

Ballina Beach Village are happy to organise transfers to and from Ballina airport. They charge a fee of $20 per journey/single person. There are a number of other transport operators offering shuttle and door to door services from both Ballina and Coolangatta Airports. Accommodation

There are four styles of accommodation and various options depending on share arrangements. Accommodation options include deluxe cabins, standard cabins, dormitory accommodation, and camping. Cabin accommodation is offered on a sole occupancy basis, twin share, or, in the case of the deluxe cabins, a triple share basis.

Availability within each category of accommodation is limited and there is a degree of variation among cabins in each category. While every effort will be made to satisfy your preferences, accommodation will be allocated on a first in, best dressed basis. If you wish to share with someone in particular, please indicate the category of accommodation and the name/s of the people you wish to share with when you make your booking.

Due to the fact that we have obtained exclusive use of the venue and all of its facilities, minimum charges do apply. These vary depending on the style of accommodation. Every effort has been made to price the various share accommodation options fairly. However, if you are sharing a cabin and feel there is any inequity, you are, of course, free to vary the contributions among yourselves.

Good quality linen is supplied for all cabin and dormitory accommodation. Bath towels are supplied but please bring your own beach towels. Cabins will not be serviced during your stay. Fresh linen/towel packs are available for $10.00. A coin-operated laundry is located on-site.

WIFI is available in some parts of the property. Ballina Beach Village charges $5 per day for this service.

Accommodation Options:

STANDARD CABINS  Fully self-contained basic cabin: one bedroom with a queen bed, second bed is a futon-couch bed/day-bed situated in the open plan living area, basic kitchen amenities, table and chairs on outside covered deck. TV, AC, Linen supplied. Available as twin cabin share or sole occupancy

DELUXE CABINS  Fully self-contained deluxe cabins: one bedroom with queen bed, second smaller bedroom with 2 single beds in bunk style, lounge/dining area and fully-equipped kitchen, outdoor dining area.  AC, Austar, WIFI, flatscreen TV, Linen supplied. Available as twin cabin share, triple cabin share or sole occupancy

DORMITORIES  Dormitory style share accommodation for 4 people. All beds are single beds in double bunk bed set ups, Small kitchenette, AC, TV. Dormitories do not have bathrooms but are located close to the shared amenities block, Linen supplied. 

CAMPING BYO tent/bedding, Share amenities block. 

Check-in and Course Registration

Check-in will be available at the Ballina Beach Village venue any time after 2pm, Friday 5 November 2010. Registration for the course will be open from 4PM - 6PM. Please aim to arrive before 5.30PM.

Dinner will be provided and the program will commence with an evening talk. The course will conclude with lunch on Sunday 15 November 2010.

Early Check-in

If you are attending Living the Wisdom with Saraswathi at at Springbrook, Qld and you would like to transfer to the Ballina Beach Village from 4 November 2010, or for any other reason wish to book in early please let us know so that arrangements can be made.

Costs

Prices include all tuition, all food (vegetarian), and nine nights accommodation of your choice.
 
Registrations must be accompanied by a deposit of $300.  No accommodation will be allocated or places in the course reserved until the deposit is received.  This deposit is fully refunded immediately if you are not accepted into the course or the course is full, unless you wish to be placed on a waitlist in which case the deposit will be held pending availability. Otherwise, the deposit is non-refundable but is transferable.
 
The deposit will be deducted from the total cost.   The balance must be received no later than 1 October 2010.  If the balance is not received by that date your place may be offered to someone else and your deposit forfeited.
 
To be eligible for the EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT PRICE your balance must be received  by 3 September 2010.  If the balance is received after that date the full price will be payable.

Registrations received after 1 October 2010 must be accompanied by full payment.

Terms and Conditions

1. REFUND POLICY FOR FOUNDATION TRAINING NOVEMBER 2010:

If a participant withdraws from the program the following terms and conditions apply:

a) If the participant withdraws on or before 1 October 2010, the participant will receive a full refund of all monies less the non-refundable deposit of $300;

b) If a participant withdraws after 1 October 2010, the participant will forfeit 50% of their total cost of the course;

c) If a participant withdraws after 29 October 2010, no monies will be refunded.

d) However, at any time prior to the course commencement, a withdrawing participant may arrange to transfer his/her payments to another person to attend the same workshop in his/her place.

2. CANCELLATION

Yoga Therapy Australia reserves the right to cancel any event, workshop or training if necessary. In the unlikely event that this occurs, a full refund of all monies will be returned to the participant.  However, no responsibility will be accepted for any consequential loss in any circumstances.

Appropriate TRAVEL INSURANCE is highly recommended.
 

3. PHOTOGRAPHS, FEEDBACK etc.

Photographs taken and feedback given may be used by Yoga Therapy Australia and the presenters of courses for marketing purposes.  If you would prefer we did not use any of the material written by you or containing an image of you please advise us in writing.

4. DISCLAIMER

Yoga Therapy Australia accepts no responsibility for any act, omission, default or neglect of themselves, their employees, agents or associates for any injury, damage, or loss to persons or goods whatsoever or however the same may be caused.
